Ecce Homo
This work made by Guido Reni, is exposed in the Museum of Louvre in Paris.
Its extraordinary beauty represents the eyes of Jesus with his ecstatic and melancholic gaze but his eyes are neither desperate nor tragically suffering. The crown of thorns are fading into in the long brown hair, drawn with meticulous skill. The beard that looks soft and in a lighter color, give a sort of contrast with the gloomy splashes of blood dripping down the skin. A flash of light at the back side reminds to the areola and this immediately refers to his divine nature. The mouth slightly half opened has an attitude of deep prayer towards the Father.
